    Search Emails through Siri

Siri is an iPhone feature that is very techy and useful. With Siri, you can easily look for a particular email without having to push several buttons. Here’s our complete guide on how to search for email on iPhone with Siri

Activate Siri by pressing and holding the side or home button while saying “Show all mails from…” or a phrase to that effect. It doesn’t require you to launch the Mail application. Ask “Which email arrived yesterday?” if you want to see emails from yesterday.

The screen fills up quickly with all of the emails that fit the search. You can tap any of these to open the message in the Mail app immediately. With a single search, Siri looks through all email providers’ folders.

Search Emails in iOS 7 through iOS 14

The procedure is simple if you are using iOS 7 through iOS 14.

    • Launch the Mail app and select the Mailboxes screen. You can locate the list of email providers you configured by tapping the arrow at the top left of the app.
    • If you wish to check all of your mailboxes at once, click All Inboxes at the top. Alternatively, you can choose any of the email addresses in the list to only search that particular account for messages.
    • You also have the choice of searching certain email account folders, in which case you can pick a particular folder
    • The search box can be seen at the top if you scroll up; tap it to begin browsing the emails. The From, To, Cc, Bcc, and Subject fields, as well as content in the body, can all be used by the Mail app to find emails.
    • You have the choice to pre-limit the email search by selecting one of these choices when you hit the search box:
    • Unread Messages: Limits the search results to only unread messages.
    • Only includes flagged mail in the search results when using marked messages.
    • Messages from VIPs: Only respond to emails sent by VIPs.
    • Only emails with attachments are found in the “Messages with Attachments” search.

    • Click on the Search folder.
    • Type the term you want to search for.
    • Select From to look up sender names and addresses, To to look up recipients in the To and Cc fields, Subject to look up Subject lines, or All to look up information across the whole email.

Search Emails in the Mail App

It takes some searching to locate the Search Box in the Mail app. To make the Search box display on the main screen, try swiping downward.

    • When you hit the Search button, Mail offers you several general search suggestions. Choose one of these options, input your search terms, or speak them out loud.
    • The software will look for any emails that have the phrase in the sender, subject, or body of the email when you write or speak a term. To focus your results, Mail also offers persons and topics you might search for and displays the top results from your search terms. Simply press the top result to open the email if it’s the one you’re looking for.
    • Additionally, you have the option to search the current mailbox or all mailboxes. The Mail folder you were in when you began your search is known as Current Mailbox. By tapping the boxes next to the search field, you can toggle these choices.
    • Reverse date ordering will be used to display your search results. You can further filter your results in the results screen using the From, To, and Message options.
    • In the search results, you can switch between All Mailboxes and Current Mailbox. To change the filter buttons to these choices, press the spacebar on your keyboard.
    • If you want to stop your current search and begin a new one, tap the X to the right of the Search box. To end the search, tap Cancel in the top right corner of your screen.

Search Emails in the Gmail App

If you are using the Gmail app on your iPhone, you can find the Search Mailbox at the top of the email inbox. The following are the steps on how to search emails on iPhone in the Gmail app

    • Select “Search mail” from the field. Based on your most frequent searches, Google will first recommend search terms.
    • When none of the suggested searches are what you’re looking for, write or speak your search phrases. You can use the microphone icon on your iPhone keypad or the mic icon to the right of the “Search mail” area to narrate.
    • Gmail will provide suggestions once you start searching, much like when you search on Google. Tap that choice if the sender or subject you’re looking for shows. If not, once you finish typing, hit the Search button at the bottom of your keyboard. Gmail will begin searching if you dictate your search as soon as you stop speaking.
    • The search query and the search results will appear in reverse chronological order in Gmail. Tap the X to the right of the search terms to close the window and go back to your default mail view.
    • Your Inbox and Sent emails are searched when you use the Gmail app to search your email. Items you’ve transferred to the Trash folder won’t be displayed.
